Our approach
Understand the Player. Build the Right Strategy.
Martin Golf Advisory begins by understanding each player’s career, priorities, professional relationships, commercial position, and goals. Our support is then tailored to the player’s individual needs.
How we think
A focused roster by design
We intentionally maintain a focused client roster so every player receives direct, attentive support from the founder. This allows us to remain responsive, understand each player’s priorities, and provide a genuinely personal level of service.
We understand the broader picture
A professional golf career involves more than the next tournament or sponsorship opportunity. We consider the player’s brand, commercial relationships, career stage, and long-term goals so that each decision fits within a broader strategy.
Straightforward guidance
We provide candid, independent perspective. If an opportunity does not align with a player’s goals, brand, or career direction, we will say so. Our focus is helping the player make an informed business decision—not pursuing a transaction simply for the sake of completing it.
Long-term over short-term
We evaluate opportunities in the context of the player’s broader career—not only the immediate season. The goal is to support sustainable commercial relationships, thoughtful brand development, and long-term professional growth.
How the relationship works
Each relationship begins with a clear, disciplined process designed to establish fit, define expectations, and identify the player’s immediate priorities.
Step 1
Initial Conversation
Discuss the player’s career stage, current priorities, commercial needs, and expectations in a private, no-obligation conversation.
Step 2
Fit Assessment
Determine whether Martin Golf Advisory’s experience, services, capacity, and approach align with the player’s needs. Both parties should feel confident before moving forward.
Step 3
Business Assessment
Assess the player’s sponsor relationships, commercial opportunities, brand positioning, professional support team, upcoming decisions, and existing business obligations.
Step 4
Engagement Plan
Define the scope of services, responsibilities, communication cadence, fee structure, confidentiality expectations, and professional boundaries in a written engagement agreement.
Step 5
Initial Action Plan
Establish immediate priorities and, where relevant, organize sponsor relationships, commercial opportunities, renewal dates, brand initiatives, and key next steps.
Step 6
Ongoing Advisory
Provide regular commercial-opportunity updates, sponsor relationship support, obligation and renewal tracking, strategic planning, and periodic business reviews based on the scope of the engagement.
Step 7
Accountability and Reporting
For ongoing engagements, clients receive clear updates regarding active opportunities, pending decisions, sponsor obligations, upcoming renewals, current priorities, and open items.
